    1. I don't know whether their «live» broadcasts are free or not.
To watch something in the archive you've got to pay anyway, as far as I understand.

    1. No problem! You can save the live-broadcast from medici.tv with the software Jaksta (for Mac and Windows) as a flash-video in a very good quality. Converting to other video-formats is possible with Jaksta, also DVD-burning with other programs.

    3. We will get a video recording of Otello either on DVD or from a TV broadcast, no worries. But the wait is worth it. Cecilia shines -:)and the rest of the cast is very strong .

    1. A ridiculous review, when it comes to Cecilia, that to me seems more like an insult out of the authors anger about Cecilia not singing more often in the US or NYC especially. No one needs the MET, to have a major career. Exactly Ceclia's main repertoire is not well placed in huge opera houses but those like Zuerich, small, intimate with a good acoustic.
Be assured, that nothing is true. Desdemona is a wonderful and fullfilling role that fits her like a glove.Everything we love about her is here...

    2. There are many things in this review--I won't list them--that if you saw the production would have to make you think he didn't see it. His description of her twinkly eyes, e.g. She was spectacularly untwinkly here. I know reviewers often write a review based on the first 15 minutes of the performance. Then they go home or to the bar.

  9. I found it a bit surprising, they didn't even cut out the long break between the 2nd and 3rd act, guess, the eventual DVD will be a bit more refined....but what a wonderful thing, to relive the performances just two days after the last -:).

  10. Thank you, Siergiej, this was a great experience and a good gift for a Women's Day :). Cecilia again opened before us his soul. The bloody shirt, comes before the curtain of the soul are torn into pieces.Applause only, seems to slowly pieces combine into a whole .And finally ... starts to smile.

    1. Sure thing (Moscow & Kazan', but not Petersburg).
Actually there's an Otello review as well, but since everyone has already seen it I didn't translate it.

  15. The broadcast must have taken out the best from the three performances (1st, 3rd and 6th of March). The "Bravissima" after the 2nd act was taken from the 3rd of March for sure -:). Gracias Luis -:).

  16. Reiner, you said that we can save the livre-broadcast from medici.tv with Jaksta, I wanted to do it, but it's not working, the software doesn't recognize that I'm looking on Medici, how did you do?

  17. Use Streamtransport, even easier, type in theadress and click on start and download, voilà.

  18. Ironically, early television broadcasters had a different problem. Since the 1950s, the only way to preserve television images was to make an inter-negative or a film dub. Television broadcasts were preserved using a Kinescope process, which involved filming live video feeds directly off a television.
