  2. I wonder if it is right to record performances that way.
I don't want to critize anyone and it is far too late for that with Youtube etc., but should we always record everything?
The quality is usually so bad it does not do the artist any justice.

  3. I think that even a recording of low quality gives us the impression of what it was like in reality.

  4. Well this might only be true for a fan... for Ms Bartoli's many detractors, a bad sound recording is just ammunition for their guns... So youtubing a bad recording might do more harm than joy.

  5. I understand your reasoning, and I generally agree with you.
At the same time we should take into consideration that Cecilia's fans like her anyway, no matter of what quality her live recordings are, whereas the detractors do not, regardless of the quality of both studio and live recordings.

  6. Well said.Come on,anonymous (a nickname would be nice),we get youtubed with other singers, too.Anyone looking at YouTube doesn't expect a pristine high quality recording. It's just fun.

  7. But many singers have said that they regret the fact that nowadays everything is recorded, because it makes them take less risks in singing because if something goes wrong it's not just heard by a audience of hundreds but preserved for eternity.

  8. Well, singers do make mistakes, they are human beings after all. A mistake is history too.
If someone makes mistakes sometimes, people will understand it and take it normally. Good singers have nothing to worry about. But those who sing awfully all the time must be worried.

  9. Now firstly, a lot of them say that YouTube was not created for this entire video marketing etc. But on contrary all YouTube wishes is your videos to get watched more and more, so that it receives funds through advertisement revenues.
