The Spectator goes to the St Petersburg launch at Versailles:

"When your launch parties are already as legendary as your coloratura (and every bit as extravagant), how do you up the ante? By taking over the Palace of Versailles, of course, for an evening of music, food and audacious spectacle that the Sun King himself would salute."

    2. This programme is different, but I guess this one is fake (A noi vivi donna eccelsa doesn't seem possible) http://www.koelner-philharmonie.de/veranstaltung/114183/ But I like this one much more.

      Delete
    3. To me it is a bad surprise too that only one of the uptempo aias are in it, but Hasse and Porpora are OK and one of the uptempo ones can be an encore, may be part of Razverzi ?
Both Hasse and the Porpora arias are on Youtube by someone )Porpora by Cecilia)
The Köln programme is fake as it is all of the CD in that order, which is not possible.

    6. Just to have it here:

Francesco Domenico Araia "Pastor che a notte ombrosa" (Seleuco), "Vado a morir" (La forza dell'amore e dell'odio), Sinfonia in D-dur

Domenico Dall'Oglio "De' miei figli" (Prologue à l'opéra La Clemenza di Tito, de J.A. Hasse), Sinfonia in A-dur

Johann Adolf Hasse "Vo disperate a morte" (La clemenza di Tito), "Se mai senti spirarti sul volto" (La clemenza di Tito), Ouverture (La clemenza di Tito)

Vincenzo Manfredini, "Non turbar que' vaghi rai" (Carlo Magno)

Nicola Porpora "Nobil onda" (Adelaide), Ouverture (Il Germanico in Germania)

Hermann Raupach "Idu na smert" (Altsesta), "O placido il mare" (Siroe, re di Persia), March (Altsesta)

      Francesco Veracini, Ouverture no. 6

    7. "Razverzi pyos gortani, laya" could well be an encore (it was in Luzern).

      Delete
    8. Makes sense that she will end the concert with encores of CD arias
When I saw the CD I was wondering what the encores would be, other composers? Now it seems logical that she turned it around, singing those composers in the main programme with more of the CD as a encore as she usually ends a concert with the biggest hits
Cencic ended his concert with "Vo disperate a morte". Cecilia may well end the first half with it.

      Delete
    9. Thank you for the links Ton. "Vo disperate a morte" is cool. Of course we all knew "Nobil Onda" already and I like that one. "Se mai senti" sounds nice. I really hope "Razverzi pyos gortani, laya" will be an encore! Just a shame my favorite piece ("Agitata In Tante Pene") probably won't be performed. I actually suspected "Cadro, ma qual si mira" to be an encore, because the composer Araia is also on the St. Petersburg album.

  30. The concert was gorgeous, Cecilia looked wonderful, she gets prettier and prettier! but I must say that to my taste the concert and the cd had too many slow arias..I love Cecilia singing everything but the volcanic coloratura arias are her biggest and most magical virtue. I hope she decides to sing more Farinelli arias I hate when countertenors monopolize his repertoire. Only Cecilia can decently sing those pieces.

I really, really hope "Razverzi Pyos Gortani, Laya" and "Agitata In Tante Pene" will be encores!!! By the way, isn't it strange that they end the program with an orchestral piece?

Is anyone here going to her concert in Berlin on wednesday? I would love to hear what the encores will be.

    1. I think they just put it in alphabetical order of composers and that won't be the order in which it will be played.
