    3. Here it is: Malena says she admires her very good friend Bartoli as a musician because she goes against the whole opera trend by singing quietly and nuanced. Bartoli has declined to sing at large operahouses like Metropolitan because she wants to sing quietly and refuses to scream/Yell. Malena admires her courage and how she is a trailblazer when it comes to how she sings. Bartoli even had to leave Italy and now lives in Zurich as she has pissed off a lot of people by refusing to conform to old opera standards. She goes her Own way and inspires a lot of new Young musicians with her colorature technique and way of singing. Malina says the same goes for Max Martin. Both musicians are ALL about the Music and has a lot of integrity. Malena hopes this prize will bring Bartoli, whom Malena says is something of a lone wolf, the recognition she so highly deserves as she is one of the Worlds most Amazing singers and musicians.

Thanks to my lovely friend Gun, who sum it up for us! Koile

    4. Let me join you: Thanks, lovely friend of Koile, for translating. :)

It is highly interesting, how Malena sees Cecilia. 'A lone wolf' - knowing Cecilia's openheartedness and her presence amidst many people, one wouldn't link this expression to her at first sight. But, yes, she goes her own path (thank God she does!) and this path obviously is more difficult and lonesome than the one, many people are going.

    5. Thank you Koile and friend! Very interesting to read. And well said Charlotte. I am very thankful for Cecilia going her own path, otherwise I wouldn't have loved opera so much as I do now!

  3. Thanks for the link Charlotte, I tried to understand what Malena says, but I only understood about 25%, so I am also waiting for Koile's update now :-)

  4. Nope, no Grammy 2016. It went to Joyce DiDonato.
